"Stayed in Japanese Traditional Room with Private Open Air Bath. The pictures on Expedia are a true representation of the accommodation but the stay was even better than anticipated. Kaiseki meal in private dining room was wonderful and showcased a lot of the local food. The tatami room and sitting area in the room was nice and relaxing and the futons were perfectly set by the time we returned after dinner. The balcony onsen was a lovely warm contrast to the chilly wintry air. The public baths...

"Check-in was a little odd using a machine, but there was an employee who helped us. The nearby lake was beautiful, although we didn't have the clearest view from our room. The free sake was fun in the lobby. Breakfast was also tasty. The Japanese-style mattress (futon) could have used a bit more padding."

"こちらの温泉は二度目の宿泊です。女性限定で小さなお子さんも居ないのでとてもゆっくり出来ます。選べるアメニティーグッズも嬉しく女性を喜ばせる為の工夫や努力をしていただけてるなぁ、と感じさせてくれます。ウェルカムドリンクのシャンパンが美味しかったです。前回は感じませんでしたが室内が暑く温度調整がわかりにくかったり操作しづらかったです。貸切風呂の温度が熱かったのですが水で調整出来るようになってなかったのでシャワーの水を入れ温度調整して入りました。夕食の前菜が乾いていて残念でした。夕食時アルコールもフリードリンクというのも嬉しいです。貸切岩盤浴は温度低めですが長く入っていれて良かったです。和室でしたがお布団のマットも厚くしっかりしていて枕も高さ調整が出来たりと快適でした。翠山亭の温泉に行きたかったのですが時間が無く行けなかったのが残念でした。 一緒に行った友人も喜んでくれてました。 "

"It was off peak season. So the place was relatively quiet and not many other guests around. Service staffs at the reception and restaurants were helpful and courteous even though they didn't speak much English. Our traditional Japanese room was clean and beautiful. Yukata was provided in room and could be worn around the hotel. We opened the window for better ventilation as cool temperature was refreshing. The only gripe was that the window does not have grille, which can be a little dangerous...
