"Comfortable and clean room, staff very friendly. Car park very convenient and hotel close to shops bars and restaurants. A good breakfast was let down by hot options - overcooked bacon, dry mushrooms, weird tasting beans and scrambled the only option of eggs. "

That said, charging nearly £20 to park overnight feels a little steep, especially when you’re already staying at the hotel. Overall a convenient base, but the parking price does take the shine off slightly."

"Room & shower both very good. No wardrobe or drawers but there are pegs & hangers for clothes. Bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly & thank you for the message on the mirror for our anniversary ! Location of the hotel is very good. Approx 20 min walk from train station but you can take a local bus (9), get off at Peasholm & hotel is over the road. Five minute walk to The Shambles & ten minutes to Minster. Lots of places nearby for food & drink including a Coop and an M& S for any juice, snacks for the room or picnic items for days out. We didnt do breakfast but had one evening meal in hotel. You order at the bar & collect food when ready. Food was tasty & well priced. Hotel seems more aimed at younger people or families with board and video games available in foyer ( snooker & fusbol as well) but even though we are older, we enjoyed the stay and were made to feel very welcome 😊 There is also a gym - we didnt use that. You are so close to the main town but far enough away to not have any outside noise late at night. We would happily stay again if in York "

"Comfortable but dated. Bathroom smelt of damp after showering. For similar stays would expect espresso coffee machine in room and replenished water each day. "
