"Lovely appointed hotel at the quiet end of The Esplanade closer to the airport. The front rooms are well appointed, but located directly above the restaurant so be prepared for noise. The nearby hospital (chopper) also adds to the noise. The staff were very helpful with luggage as there are no lifts. We felt the room was given a basic clean from the previous occupants because we were only staying one night. The floor was dirty and sticky and amenities not topped up. "It was terrible during my 4 days stay at hotel. The first two days I kept on being interrupted by noise. The first night the noise was so loud I thougt it was train passing near by. I could not fall asleep for most of the night. It totally ruined my following day reef tour. l believe the noise came from a blocked or damaged stormwater down pipe outside my room after rain. The front desk staff were helpful and tried to swap my room with an upcoming customers as the hotel was fully booked....

"Clean room and nice bathroom. The resort itself is beautiful and has a lot of covered walking paths to get from the lobby to the rooms, pools, and restaurants, helpful when it rains on and off a lot in Cairns. Breakfast buffet was really good, wish it was built into the price though. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly one night with very noisy neighbours at 2:30am. "Great central place to stay with the wharf very close and the casino just across the road. Rooms that have been renovated are lovely, the ones that haven't been are very outdated and damaged and even though we booked 2 the same had different size beds, tiny TV's, no balcony furniture, bath in one and not the other, and then smelled mouldy.
