"Loved the open air concept "

"Perfect room and location, great friendly staff too. The only downside was the gym, as it was a bit dirty and didn’t have any mats. The sauna had a huge draft coming in too. Honestly though, everything else about our stay was fantastic. "

"Cairns plaza hotelnis a 3 star hotel but I wi rate as 4 star definately. Very clean, stuff is friendly. Thannks to Lyv, the receptionist, she has been amazing and very helpful! Makes guests really feel welcome:) one negative thing onky are the matresses are very uncomfortable. But if needed I will definately come back to Cairns Plaza hotel again."

"The room was excellent, spacious, very comfortable bed, good shower, well appointed with lots of extras and a great view across the marina. (We booked a Horizon Club Marina View King Room). We really enjoyed the beautiful breakfast. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. The Shangri La The Marina is very well located on the marina, but close to shops, restaurants and other facilities"

However, room service was terrible. iPad menu in the room went blank, so had to order room service by phone and waited more than an hour. Eventually we had to cancel it because it was running too late and we had to go out. Booked 2 bedroom suites, the carpet in the living room smells really bad and been allergic throughout the stay. "Grate place to stay had a good time. But downfalls were the staff at the bar both at the poo and outside the pool were pretty bad. They seemed like they were all having the worst day and like it was a big inconvenience to take your order. There was no conversation so nothing just plain rude pretty much mannerism every day at the bars. Staff at front desk were always lovely though. And as far as wet weather activities at the resort there was none so that was a bit of a joke not even having a...

"The apartment has no elevator. We stayed at 3rd floor and was hard to carry heavy luggage to it. The AC is not cool at all. I don't recommend the 3rd floor living especially during the hot summer due to AC inefficiency."
