"Bit of a rabbit warren and a long way to our room from reception up a number of short flights of stairs awkward for people of 82 with a small dog and suitcases"

"The general condition of the hotel is poor, old, tired and a bit scruffy. The rooms just about fit the bill, but the bathrooms are very small. The general condition of the hotel is not good, the corridors are grotty and the floor is uneven. The staff are hit n miss, the cleaning ladies were friendly enough the night shift staff were completely incompetent, and don't expect room service, I had to order in a pizza!! "Pefect stop over for my recent stay in Thirsk. The owner was so attentive and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the parking was secure."

"Gorgeous property, staff were so lovely, lots of parking! Room and decor was lovely and we felt so at home. It’s a shame we didn’t spend more time on site. Breakfast was great, and the cafe was insane! Probably one of the best cafes in the county, if not country. We will definitely return. The choice to purchase local produce from the pantry was a nice touch too. We visited the area for business, but hope to come back in our spare time and stay again!"

The shower was also maybe the worst I’ve had in the last 5 years of constant travel. Felt like someone held a pinched hose over me and there was no water pressure at off peak shower times. "
