"This property lacked cleanliness. The rugs in the rooms were nasty. I don’t know if they have ever cleaned them. They only do housekeeping every other day, and if you ask them to clean it on a day it isn’t scheduled. They give you resonses, in a nice way that it’s not your day. You have to be to the point if you want it done regularly. They also don’t give you new towels on your off day, unless you ask. Clean up on your day consist of fresh towels, bed made, change the trash will try and tell you when you last had house keeping. There is a $70 parking fee if you decide to rent a car. That wouldn’t have been an issue if we were told that there was a charge to park when we asked about parking. We were just told that they do have parking. Also if you park it has to be for the whole time tha you are there, which we weren’t told that as welll. If you park without the hotel validating your parking, it could be more expensive. in the beginning, but no one told us that, and we asked It is not the hotel’s garage."

"Overall, the stay was decent, but there are several issues that need to be addressed by management. Room condition: The pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable. There was a small hole in the wall near the bed, the paint on the white walls was visibly dirty, and a wall decal was peeling off. These are cosmetic issues, but they affect the overall feel of the room. Cleanliness: The bathroom floor was not clean and had a strong urine odor — this is unacceptable and needs immediate attention. Value for money: We paid an early arrival fee and an additional city fee, which made the experience feel even more disappointing given the condition of the room. To top it off, we were given a rooftop-view room that overlooked a dirty rooftop — not what you’d expect after paying extra. I hope this review helps future guests make an informed decision. I’m sharing this experience in the spirit of complete honesty."

"It made me appreciate the value of staying at hotels outside the downtown core. Even as a guest of the hotel, I was asked not to take film photos on the rooftop patio because of the "professional" look of the camera, while Instagram vloggers walked around in formal clothes, talking to their phones - which was 100% for-profit and extremely tacky. I think boutique hotels in Wicker Park/Bucktown (Robey, for example) are more tuned into the nuance of good service, and less tethered to the tourist eco-system. Good lesson for next time. "
