The Devon Hotel
3.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (696)
"Even though it purports to be a very popular restaurant and the food is freshly cooked and tasty the menu is limited and its difficult to find anything that doesn't come with chips. Only one salad on the menu. The rooms are good, very comfy beds but most of the bathrooms in the main part of the hotel (I have tried several) have steep steps either on the entrance to the room or within the room and bathrooms are TINY - to the extent that one of them I couldn't put a bath mat down flat!"

The City Gate Hotel
4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (404)
"Really nice hotel near the city centre. Very short walk away from train stations (Exeter Central and Exeter St David's) and the cathedral. The room was a great size and very clean. There was also some complimentary port and flapjacks which was a lovely surprise when we arrived. The breakfast was really tasty and decently priced (£15 for a cooked breakfast, unlimited hot drinks, and a small continental breakfast buffet). Only negative for me was that it was sometimes quite hard to find a member...
