"Having a baloney room on the second floor was definitely a treat. Housekeeping seemed to be overwhelmed. Our room was missed 2 out of 3 nights. "

"The Monteleone is a New Orleans institution, known for its quiet elegance and the famous Carousel Bar. The hotel is spotless, the furnishings elegant and timeless. All of the staff went out of their way to be friendly and engaging. In an area that is as tawdry and touristy as the French Quarter, the hotel manages to maintain its beauty and dignity. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and hope to return. The only drawback, is that the Carousel Bar was full from opening until closing, with parties of people waiting on the sidelines to swoop into a chair the minute someone got up and left, so we didn't get to sit there even once on this trip. I think I've been able to get a seat there twice in about 40 years of New Orleans visits. The hotel has started a program whereby you can have the bar to yourself before 11 a.m. There's probably a charge for the service, but I didn't look into it. I'm not a big day drinker. For a French Quarter hotel, the Monteleone is a wonderful choice. "

"The property is well kept, clean, and very pretty. We did not go to the pool, so can't speak to that, but the room, although small, was nice and quiet. We used public paid parking about a block away (no hotel parking) and had no issues. Walking distance to all the sites and the stadium. Will definitely stay with them again!"
