The check-in process was frustrating, convoluted, and dangerous as my wife and I had to stand outside in Detroit with our luggage in hand on the street - NOT SAFE AT ALL!!!. The On-prem employee was helpful but HATED the check-in process. NO front counter, so you're on your own. NO service. Parking was literally a block away and outside. Horrible in climate weather for people with mobility issues.

Great place to stay
They switched us from times square to new central but the communication was up to date and excellent! The space they put us in was fantastic. we only had 2 issues: 1. I made it apparent that there were 3 guests, but we only got one key fob. 2. Our living room table broke the first night after putting only a plate and cup on it. Not getting security deposit back obviously

Upon arrival I was trying to use the callbox, when I asked someone standing right there for help she asked me if I was part of Mint House then proceeds to say how much she hates Mint House. I'm guessing she's a full time resident of the actual building. The next day I used the call box but the doors wouldn't open so I tried to open them manually. The person at the door (the only time i ever saw anyone at the door/front desk) aggressively told me to not touch the doors and that they'd open on their own (they don't). Look for a hotel- this is not a hotel experience and shouldn't be on Expedia.

Extra blankets, please. We used both the bed and pull-out and it was chilly. Please supply extra blankets.

This property is not as good anymore. It was hard to get in and out of the building quickly based on the calling prompt. I did not have an ironing board and the iron and the replacement iron had burn marks. The sink also keep clogging. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Detroit - Times Square
Overall stay was very brief (one night only and an early departure) but very pleasant. It was our first time using the Mint House concept, and it was fun. The room was "as advertised" and very clean. We had three people in our group, so the two-bedroom, two bath and sofa bed were perfect. The location was great (downtown Detroit) and close to the sites we were interested in seeing, specifically Comerica Park for a baseball game. The "virtual" only check-in prior to arrival was a surprise, but I luckily caught it the night before. A reminder a few days in advance would have been nice. I couldn't get the free WiFi to connect and the TV only had Roku Live TV available (no cable), but I didn't really need either of them as short as our stay was.

The website doesn't say that the check in time is 3pm at that there are no early check ins. That information isn't provided until after you've already paid and receive the check in link. It also doesn't state that the property will be doing a background check.

Nice accommodations and great location. Walking distance to most places in heart of Detroit. Area was a bit noisey with construction nearby but otherwise normal city noises.

Everything was great however they would not let us check in just an hour early to drop off our stuff. I noticed them cleaning at 9:30 am the day we left so I don’t think it was the issue. A little more flexibility would have been helpful.

This was a perfect place for our short visit to Detroit. Great location, close to the three sports stadiums. Easy walk to Greektown. Communication with the company was top notch. Very quick response to any questions we had. We will definitely consider this place if we return to Detroit.

NOOOOO!!! This is not a hotel. Think again!!!
The worst experience in my life. Mint House is not a hotel. There’s no front desk nor any staff in the building. Communications were very bad and took forever to solve the problems. Never going back to any Mint House in the world.

It was very nice. Studio apartment was really cool. I liked it had a full kitchen. Staff that was there was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Parking suggested in communications was good. However figuring out how to get in the building initially was a little difficult. It was great overall though.

Large, clean room. Good experience. Would stay again. Took a long while to get in. Auto door does not open. Need to force may way in, after someone else told be about the trick. Room ceiling needs attention. Paint is flacking off. As read before, difficult to identify the building. Entrance is not at Cliffort st.

Everything was great and checkin and out was easy. The place was very spacious and right downtown. The only issue I had was a couple things around the apartment appeared to be damaged. Other then that I do plan on staying here again

The building entrance instruction ls weren't provided so we had to call for help getting into the apartment. However, our call was answered quickly wirh helpful instructions, once made. We were also disappointed there was no bathtub, just a shower.

Nice place, bad check-in experience
Great location, nice apartment, very clean, well stocked for what we needed for our short stay. The pre-check-in requirements are an awful experience; they felt invasive and more than I'd be willing to entertain for a one night stay in the future. I booked two rooms and one of the rooms didn't get check-in details even though she filled out the same 'security' forms I did. When she called to ask about check-in details, she was told she didn't provide some details they required (though these were never asked for before) and was sent further instructions to give more identification.

Finding the building and getting in was a bit tricky since nowhere is it labeled, and you have to pull the door open when it gives you access. Felt like not in the right place. But it was a great location and a beautiful apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return.

Wash the sofa bed mattress cover & shower curtain
The apartment looked really good at first glance. However the cleaning person needs to pay more attention to detail. There was blood on the shower curtain and the headboard. When I pulled the sofa bed out the mattress cover had quite a bit of bodily fluid on it. I therefore just slept on the closed sofa. The mattress in the bedroom was hard. The location was great but having to go through the virtual check in was not easy. I couldn't do all of the requirements on the website so I had to try to do it all through email. It wasn't user friendly.
