"We chose this location as we knew it would be a bit quirky, and it definitely delivered on this. The check in time was chaotic, with only one person and a short time period to arrive, lots of campers without reservations were queueing up to be booked in. "We enjoyed this property for its view of the lake, proximity to restaurants and Doubtful Sound tour operators as well as the size of our room. Our room was a two room suite with balconies facing the lake. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is large, somewhat dated but well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The RealNZ office, our Doubtful Sound tour operator, was only one block away."

"We stayed in the separate units from the main area and it was tidy, recently renovated and nice! Older exterior but well renovated, clean and snug with dedicated parking. Would stay here again. "

"The property was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There was no staff for check-in apparently due to a NZ wide staff shortage. A written note was left for me about changing the method of payment but no one responded via the Expedia messaging app. A staff member did show up in the evening eventually just to process the payment. "The outside is looking a little tired but on the outside but inside it was very nice ithought i'd booked for 2 nights which is what i set up in the app but as you go further down the list of available properties it goes from 2 nights to 1 for whats available it's not very obvious until you look into what happened so what you think your paying for is a total of 2 nights is actually 1 so it's a bit of a rookie error on my part but a learning experience "
