This is a very nice hotel and property. We just had a very bad stay.
We wanted to finish up a long trip with a 2 night stay here as a treat after a lot of driving and bouncing around the South Island.
Check in staff was friendly and courteous, but there was an issue with the booking. They were able to piece it together, and ultimately got it handled without issue, but it took about 40 minutes. Not a big deal on its own.
We got to our room, which was amazing. Very clean, lots of space, and a beautiful view! Exactly what we were hoping for.
After settling in, attempted to log on to wifi, which did not work. Called the front desk, and they spelled our name wrong so we could not log in. They needed to change it in their system, then we could log in. They were again, helpful and courteous and had this corrected in about 20 minutes. Again, no big deal at all on its own.
We left our room and returned later that night. Turned on the television which was set up with a menu to scan QR codes for room service menu, and a link so you could cast from your phone, or watch local programming. We went to bed, chose to cast, and after following the prompts got a movie on Netflix to cast to the tv, but with no sound. The tv had a message that said in order to adjust sound, the tv settings needed to be changed from surround sound.
Again, called the front desk and explained the issue with the television. They said they would look into it as soon as possible. So we just watched local pr
