"Hotel in good location, we booked a nice riverview room. The view is fantastic. The room is spacious. It is a five-star hotel, front desk staff are really helpful. The location is just on the river.
The breakfast wasn't up to the standard of a five-star hotel, with not too much variety and items repeated every day, but the staff there were great. Generally speaking, we enjoyed our stay."

"Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool...

"A quaint, hidden gem of a property which was well located away from the hustle and bustle. Lisa, who manages the place, was lovely and friendly. The spa bath was a real treat and it was refreshing to stay in pet friendly accomodation that didn’t charge extra for your pet (big plus!). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the cabin had a lovely homely feel. Only small negatives were that the towels were really thin, there was just a sheet and thin blanket (no duvet) so it got a bit cold...

Generally didn’t get told what we were entitled to.
The room was amazing, very happy with it!
•Through Expedia App. asked questions and never got an answer with communication with contacting the hotel. I rang Expedia directly, for answers.
I also rang the hotel directly as well and Spoke to a young lady a few days prior to our booking and she was not helpful and had no idea."
