Brisbane Travel Guide Video

From trendy galleries to trendier bars, diving to biking, Brisbane is ready and willing to be whatever kind of destination you want it to be.

There are so many different things to do and see in Brisbane, it really is the city that caters for every type of holiday. With huge shopping centres brimming with options from bargain to high-end, a multitude of gourmet restaurants and romantic cruises along the river, the choices are seemingly endless. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie who likes to live on the wild side, or museums and culture are more your thing, don't worry, this sunny city has it all!Take the ferry up the river and stop off at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can feed the kangaroos and even cuddle a koala. For a more exotic wildlife experience, jump in the car and head for Australia Zoo to see the legacy of Steve Irwin. If it's a proper adventure you're after, rent an SUV and drive out to Moreton Island National Park, where you can camp on a deserted beach, dive amongst shipwrecks and observe whales and sharks from a safe vantage point.Head back into the city to make the most of the cultural hub that is South Bank, home to the renowned Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the exceptional Brisbane Powerhouse, a converted power plant. Also in this district you will find magnificent galleries and museums, the Gallery of Modern Art and Museum of Brisbane to name but two, both of which are free.Check out Brisbane's nightlife around the Fortitude Valley area, a hotspot of sophisticated bars and live music venues. Alternatively, Burnett Lane, with its gourmet restaurants and stylish cocktail bars, will keep you entertained all night.Brisbane boasts more than 27 kilometres of bicycle paths which are a great way to see the city without being held up by traffic or worrying about parking spaces. These trails conveniently run alongside the Brisbane River and through the city centre. That being said, the city does have an extensive transportation network in place, servicing local, regional, national and international destinations. What really sets "Brissie" apart is that this dynamic city, with its top-class amenities and cultural venues, is set against the backdrop of awe-inspiring, sun-drenched scenery. What more could a visitor possibly ask for?

Nice hotel and I liked the room layout and the staff were great. At $550 a night I don’t think water in the room is too much to ask for along with a safe kettle and tea bags of a quality above floor sweepings and definitely not instant coffee! There were negatives but not the hotel’s fault. We didn’t ...
