"Séjour vraiment agréable dans cet hébergement. Très bonne communication avec l’hôte qui était vraiment disponible et réactif. La chambre est calme et bien équipée. La vue le matin est fantastique. Je n’ai pas eu le courage de tester le jacuzzi du fait des températures très basses durant mon séjour. Je recommande vraiment cet hébergement."

"I was so disappointed with the property especially given the rate. The property is undergoing a refurb, had furniture and cables everywhere in the foyer, they were also painting and had a temporary check in desk. One lift wasn’t working, the door to our room got stuck each time and was very hard to open, the rooms themselves weren’t great - one big disappointment and certainly not worth the price! In addition on arrival we were told they were over booked and were looking to send us to a sister...

"The staff at Le Phenix are amazing . Always friendly. I felt comfortable with them. They are gracious for we English speakers who have less than rudimentary French (I practiced! Really I did!) The rooms have good AC if necessary. The restaurant associated with the hotel is shockingly good. Such a wonderful lunch! We did not have the breakfast buffet because we eat so light, we did not find value. I do wish there was a hot water kettle in the room. Beds are comfortable. Our room was spacious....

"Room was very clean and roomy. It’s a very old building and there are rooms that have no windows though. That’s fine if there is a significant price difference but not good for a multi-night stay. Best to call in advance to try to get one of the couple of rooms that have windows. It’s also perfectly located just outside the old city. Easy walk to everything."

"The hotel is located just behind the train station in Lyon’s 2nd arrondissement. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, and full of historic charm. "Decent location, nice staff, strange decor/style which seemed to really date the property. The air conditioning barely cooled down the room. The bathroom curtains are very sheer and so it was extremely hot in the bathroom, even at 10am with the blazing sun on a high floor. It was 30 degrees C during our 1 night stay in May so quite miserable sleeping/showering."
