We were so very pleasantly surprised by this property! We chose it for the location and the price but the pictures online seemed to look a bit basic but it was so lovely. The hotel was clean, quaint, and more high end than expected. Sure the rooms amenities were basic, but the room itself was very clean and extremely comfortable. The hotel was walking distance to everything we planned to see, and the quality of the restaurants close by were plentiful, wonderfully varied, with first rate food. The very best thing about Le Phénix Hotel was by far the incredible staff! We had interactions with about five staff over three days and every single one was extremely friendly, kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to help! If all hotels had the quality of staff Le Phénix Hotel does everyone would travel as it was 5-Star service from beginning to end. When we return to Lyon, and we will because it’s a world class city, we won’t bother looking for a hotel because this one is home!

The front desk staff was very helpful. The location is convenient, especially since there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of several major sites and the metro lines.

The staff in this quaint clean Morden hotel on the river makes this an absolute gem. My room was big. My son had a single room but had a bath with jacuzzi. A nice little surprise. All the staff were lovely helpful and informative. The surrounding areas has fantastic bars, cafes and restaurants.
