"Interesting place. Some unique, desirable features (pool and hot tub area is very nice) but a few peculiarities. Rooms are quite spartan with odd design choices (e.g., the set up for the shower, toilet and sink) that led me to think it was a refurb'd older hotel - when actually it was built as designed. King sized bed was great. Our room had a very large but mostly enclosed deck attached that only had half of one wall open. The included breakfast is quite basic - not much in the way of fruit...

"This place was a hidden gem! Conveniently located and short drive to Siesta Key Beach and shops. It felt like we pulled off the highway and entered a secluded privite island resort. We had all the amenities needed for our stay. We had issues with the coin fed dryer getting hot, and the housekeeping staff were so great to offer to dry our clothes and return them to our room. "Services in room, replenishment, toiletries, towels etc not done. The older was rundown. Moving to the newer tower was an up charge of $175 per night. .Restaurant evening service poor. Vanessa pool side service was excellent! Beautiful beach could have had more amenities than just towels and umbrellas. For example food and drink service on the beach. We would not stay at that location again and we would consider other Opal properties. "

"WHAT A FIND! Beautiful property in the heart of Sarasota. Large, extremely clean rooms with nice touches, including two sink areas - great when traveling with others! Very nice breakfast, super friendly staff, and coffee and tea available all day and night. You won't be disappointed!"

"This place is amazing! The staff are amazing and very welcoming, they always find a way to help and they are so kind. The hotel is in a perfect location . Close to everything. "

"Parking was very crowded and close. The room had a window in the entry door that wasn’t covered properly for privacy and let in light all night. The couch was dirty and the large rug was filthy. The bathroom was nice. The bed was good, and the refrigerator worked well. However, you had to go to another location for check in. If they cleaned properly and covered the window in the door it would be fine."

Cons: location is far from the "popular" shops and restaurants, remodeled but still very cheap feeling, water to shower and facet gets so hot it would blister a child in seconds, pool chairs for use with this reservation are located at a seperate location which would be a 20 minute walk on the beach or hopping on the trolley...
