"A charming Gastropub hotel on the edge of Epping Forest conveniently located near Chingford overground station with direct links to Liverpool St. The hotel is a tudor style timber and white plaster building with stained glass windows amongst many other old world embellishments. "Stayed over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely setting with rabbits and squirrels running around the grounds. Ate at the on-sight restaurant - several items not available on the menu, no lager available either. Food was very good with Sunday roasts. "We asked hotel to confirm we could have a parking space, they confirmed by email but neglected to mention it would cost £15. Check on was great, friendly person and helpful. Room was nice but metal clothes rack by bed didn’t leave much room and I bashed my knee on drawer knob. Venue was not great for sleep, they had very loud music until 01:15 an we did not sleep well as road was also loud from quite early. "Parking on site was an added bonus- although to qualify for the 24-hour hotel £20 guest rate you need to go into reception. I spent 10 minutes trying to pay parking online and via the app, before going in. Then it was simple. Room was clean and very functional. Only confusion was the lighting. "Hotel and staff were extremely helpful. Never had any issues while staying here. Bed was super comfortable, and the room was huge for what i expected. Not sure why the shower was a foot higher than the floor, and to get out was quite dangerous when your wet, and the floor is damp. But the rooms are excellent. I stayed on the 3rd floor.
