"I wish I’d just paid more to go to a chain hotel. This was terrible, the shower took 10 minutes to warm up by this point the bathroom was already flooded and the water was leaking into the bedroom floor. One of the great benefits was ‘FREE PARKING’ listed on their advert but I was in fact charged for parking for the few hours I was there overnight!!! Conveniently close to the airport but that’s about all that was good about this place."

Down Hall Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"There was no AC. being a listed building makes it hard to install AC. the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. One sash window could only open about 20cm at the bottom, as secondary double glazing had been installed it was not possible to open the top part. The other window only opened at the bottom but would not stay open so staff put a cushion there to keep it open. They gave us another fan which helped. Because of the heat in the room we could not close the curtains at night as that would hinder any ventilation and outside lighting was very bright. The beds were very comfortable and a sheet was provided so we did not have to use the duvet. We had requested a twin room but this was not provided till the following day. the staff were very attentive and welcoming."

"Booked for a one night stay, as we were attending a music event on Silverworks Island. Staff at the hotel were wonderful and all members of the team that we interacted with, were extremely helpful. We had to request help in getting the wall-mounted fan unit running (please note that this hotel does not have air conditioning, just a wall-mounted fan/heater) an additional pillow, and a portable fan to use in addition to the fan unit. Thank you to the staff for being so lovely and helping us out; it was massively appreciated! ☺️ If you’re not staying in a heatwave, and therefore the lack of air conditioning does not affect you, I’d whole heartedly recommend this hotel. The lift is a little tired and could do with being replaced (I know this is going to be very expensive, but I’m mentioning this for people of whom might be unable to use the stairs). As I mentioned above, the staff were wonderful and ultimately that is why I’ve given 4 stars throughout. There is a car park on site (not free of charge but this is fine and was expected) which was a huge plus too, difficult to find in London! We were given a discount code for the car park, which reduced it from £18.00 overnight, to £12.00."

"Room 554 is a spacious twin room with a pleasant view across the train station forecourt. An excellent budget hotel with great facilities. Nice staff. Room has everything you need including charging cubes for plugs and USB. Excellent location by the railway stations with taxis right outside. 24 hour bar service, sandwiches and snacks available in the cafe and pizzas available until 3am, great air con. The bathroom pods are not my favourite thing but the hotel is such good value it's not enougg to put me off."
