Expedia placed both me and my wife in a situation hotel that was not safe for me or convenient for my stay in Amsterdam. When I called Expedia for assistance in the matter the agent gave me the run around. Reset assured I am going let group I know about bad situation that Expedia placed my wife and I into.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and we felt safe inside the entire time. The room was pretty spacious and the bathroom had a shower enclosure, which seems to be pretty rare in older properties. It even had a lift! Luggage storage was convenient and free. The only thing to look out for is that if you need a well-lit room or a property that’s very quiet, you might want to look elsewhere. Even with every single light in the room on, it was very dark. There wasn’t a party vibe in the hotel at all but you could hear people as they walked by your room talking and the floor was a bit creaky and shaky. It didn’t cause a problem for us, but if you need silence, it might not work for you. Otherwise, a comfortable, pleasant stay. Take note that this property is very close to the train station, but it is also in the red light district with some interesting vibes and “scenery” as well as some family unfriendly shops.

Amazing hotel!
This hotel was absolutely amazing! Staff was very accommodating and helped us plan and book our tours! The location is absolutely perfect! Walking distance to hundreds ds of amazing restaurants and bars. The train station. Ferry harbor. And the red light district! 10/10!! Thank you!!!

Good: cheap, very convenient, shockingly quiet for the area, elevator available, bathroom was new and pretty nice. Bad: radiator could not keep up with the near freezing temps outside, spots that looked like mold in the room, layout of the hotel is quite odd where even with the elevator I still had to go up and down several sets of stairs to get to my room.

The hotel is located in the city center near all the shopping and dining options you could possibly want. Near the Red Light district, the Central Station, and shopping district. Within easy walking distance of the station, you can catch a tram, bus, ferry, or train anywhere you want to go. Took me a solid 12 minutes to get to the museum area. The staff was awesome at helping me find things to do and navigate the area. They were super friendly and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. This is a older building (circa 1700s) so be aware that it's not a five star place but it was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for adults planning on enjoying the city center.

Basic Room/Excellent Service
Perfect location close to the main train station; easy to access the train back to the airport. Excellent friendly english speaking front desk staff available 24/7 to assist. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Free breakfast was plentiful. We will stay here again!

We stayed in the "penthouse" suite that has narrow horizontal windows which made it almost impossible to see out. There is also a unique stairway/ladder to get up into the room which made it a little challenging for my wife who has mobility issues. Other than that, it's a very cool/old hotel and the staff were always great to deal with. A little noisy in the evenning, but this is Amsterdam.

Staff was great. Breakfast was great. Room was decent. My only complaint was the room was not set up to handle the high temperatures outside and for us U.S. tourists who are use to central air and refrigeration, it made for a poor night of sleep.

Our first night we were in a room facing the front street. even though a week night it was so noisey we could not sleep. The second night they were nice enough to switch us to a room that did not face the street. This was much better noise wise, however with no AC and no windows that opened it was so hot we barely slept. On the bright side the staff were very helpful as much as they could and the breakfast was very good. Also on the good side, it had an elevator and even though it was very small, was much better than the tiny staircase.

The night time reception, a young man from Portugal, and Clarra, the day reception, were both extremely professional including the entire staff who were all very helpful and accommadating. I appreciate them acknowledging my birthday. Thank you. The entire staff isca credit to this wonderful hotel.

No electricity! Had I known I would have switched hotels. Had electricity overnight for a few hours and the room had mold and was disgusting. Five flights of steps with no elevator.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and a short walk from the main Dam Square and it’s central location was near to many places to eat but this also meant it could be a little noisy at night The hotel was kept very clean and had a nice continental breakfast in the morning The desk was manned and open 24 hours There was narrow winding stairs as the building is very old but there was also a lift available

My stay report is rather unusual. We had a one night reservation for the hotel, but when we showed up, we were told they had overbooked. However, they found us accommodations at another hotel just around the corner. With similar amenities. The front desk clerk was incredibly nice and apologetic. The hotel we ended up at is called the Prins Hendrik. Good room , served its purpose. Stayed 4 nights at Moxy Houthavens. Wish we stayed the entire time at Prins Hendrik.
