The Fat Badger is ideally located close to the Minster just outside the busy area of the city. Good points: Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and restaurant. Nice beer garden to the rear. Rooms cleaned every day and tea and coffee etc...replenished. Bad points: The room we had was very small, not like those shown in adverts. The room was in need of a refresh, pealing paint, lack of cupboard space and drawers. However the worst part of the stay was being woken all through the night by the sound of revellers emptying out from the pubs and from 4:30 am every morning the dustbins and glass bins being emptied into dust carts. Investing in some double glazing for the windows would of made this less of an issue.

The secret garden is a great addition, but can get very busy . If staying over get a room on a lower floor , we were on the top floor , 6 flights of creaky stairs . Breakfast was good .

The room was fine, and the breakfast good. It's well situated in the centre of the old city. The only issue for a 79 year old was our room was three floors up with no lift. The staff were very helpful carrying luggage for us.

We were in the attic room. People with any mobility problems would not be able to access this room. Stairs were very steep. Staff were very helpful with luggage etc but access cannot be improved. Food was very good as was the service. Location is excellent.
