"Big room with a separate shower/sink and toilet. Washer machine inside the bathroom was convenient. The shower turned into a dryer, which was cool. The breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others. It's also well located. "

"Always frontline staff available at check in to help you. Excellent bakery for coffees, cake and savoury treats. The rooms are fairly big and very clean. All amenities are well equipped and available. Great location and rooms are very quiet. "

"Overall rating this hotel poorly for a number of reasons. First and most importantly the beds. Mattresses were way too soft or overused and sleeping there started causing back issues by day 3. We did ask the staff and they were helpful trying to fix the situation and although it improved (they changed the mattress pad) it was still uncomfortable. So if you don’t like soft or sunken mattresses I would avoid. Second is location. Location is fine in terms of how close it is to some tourist attractions but it is one the outer edges of the “nice” area and the neighborhood feels less inviting. It’s good if you want a bit of quiet but not ideal otherwise. The good: Staff like always in Japan was amazing. Rooms are cute and pretty, albeit small. Property is overall clean and cozy. "

"Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff very friendly. Room was compact .. as described by the hotel .. the bed is huge and really comfy and as the photos show on the website it literally fits wall to wall. This means you literally have to climb in and out from the bottom. Minimal hanging room for essentials and just enough room to have our suitcases on the floor. Room is modern and has amenities such as kettle / hairdryer. Small sofa to sit on. Would definitely recommend "

"Very friendly and accommodating staff. Booked our in -room massages with ease. Beautiful hotel in a quiet area next to a temple. However, Happy hour room was hot and packed with loud foreigners. But overall we loved our stay there!"

"Great location in Gion! Was a bit noisy with the street noise and could hear people in the next room. Nice hotel though for the price! We added breakfast to our stay which we regretted/ not the best selection and with so many cafes nearby it’s cheaper and better to go elsewhere. Beds were comfy and whole bathrooms and rooms were on the smaller side they utilize the space the had. Lots of places to hang towels, clothes etc. would stay again but request room not facing the street"

"A little bit of a walk from the train, but that just gives you more time to take in the sites. Overall, this hotel is great. Aesthetically, it’s top notch. We loved our room and have been talking about it long after our stay. The only knock I’ll give is that the staff felt annoyed when we asked questions. They were very helpful, but sometimes felt reluctant while answering questions or assisting us. That said, I wouldn’t let that deter you from staying here. Next time we’re in Kyoto (and hopefully soon!), we’ll gladly rebook here. "
