"Overcharged us for our stay .. I noticed I got charged $50 extra without any explanation through Expedia. I caught it looking through my credit card transactions. We left room clean after one night for daughter’s graduation nearby. Breakfast is basic. Disappointing.."

"The ac units are difficult to operate because they are too high. You can’t operate the controls without standing on a chair."

"Stayed at two other California hostels in the past couple of years and this one was by far the best. Very private double bed, great bathroom facilities, and overall just a really great experience. My only complaint would be that the kitchen area is small. Hard for more than one person to move around in there."

"We got what we paid for-downtown Gaslamp. We were in walking distance to Petco Park, Little Italy, the waterfront and restaurants. Use the earplugs they provide. The staff was friendly and accommodating. ."

"There was only one elevator that was working but the staff made every effort to help the guests. Nice staff and clean hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego!"

"Esta muy bien el desayuno, solo un poco más de variedad sería 5 de 5 estrellas. Y el jugo de naranja salía solo agua con un 25% de jugo pero por lo que vi en otras mesas fue mala suerte. Todo rico Lo único que no entendí es el cobro de estacionamiento yo ví bastante lugar."

"Cozy, clean, perfect for short stays. Close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets. Great and attentive staff. Well worth the price!"

"Victor goes above and beyond with his wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas. The folks at the desk were very helpful and patient answering any questions. Downside : we were going to eat at the restaurant but the bartender was preoccupied with his conversation with someone at the bar. Also , we stayed 7 days and only had housekeeping 2 days. Kind of lax for the $$$ you charge."

"Our bathroom was dirty - hair on floor and in sink and tub The tub was not clean had white powder. Then the tub did not drain it was stopped up. Gunk came up from the pipes. We had to inconveniently change rooms."

"Good location if you want to explore downtown. Not good if you're uncomfortable with common gender bathroom and restroom."

"They had a succulent wall garden on the second floor and table and chairs. Coffee and tea readily available on this floor and 3rd floor. An historic building well maintained. Restaurant very nice. Had breakfast and supper. Delcious. Very clean."

"It definitely is a family hotel! Complete with allllll the kids that do not have parental control/supervision. We stayed Memorial Day weekend, was “controlled” until it was nighttime and apparently many adults just didn’t want to parent anymore? Idk but there were many fights, throwing glass off the balconies (ALOT), and police called. Idk how “family friendly” that is but I definitely won’t be coming back due to that fact. We don’t do that in my family. I saw kids just tearing apart signs....

"Stayed here for 4 nights and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I understand Moxy is meant to be more casual and compact, but the rooms felt old and not well maintained. The bed was uncomfortable, there was barely any closet or storage space, and no complimentary water in the room. Housekeeping only cleaned the room once during my entire stay, and I had to call and request it myself. Overall, the hotel feels overdue for updates and better service standards."

"The staff were all very helpful and kind, but the area was exceedingly loud and the room did little to nothing to dampen the noise so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet this isn’t your place. Also, not family friendly."
