"The hotel lobby had complimentary water and juice - tea/coffee which was lovely and we were given drink tickets for the bar and restaurant as an added perk. We even received a free room upgrade that gave us a balcony and the view was wonderful. Suggestions for the hotel - have more water refill stations outside of just the gym. Allow for a self-service parking instead of valet only. And consider limiting late night pool hours- it got loud and, bathroom upgrades - they are a bit dated. "

"The views from the hotel were outstanding. We faced Hilo Bay and loved the beauty of the property. I am diabetic so I would have preferred a breakfast that included some protein. The bread and fruit was nothing I could eat so I gave mine to my family. The coffee was great. I enjoyed the egg dishes I had in the restaurant. Everyone was friendly."

" It was my first time staying at the property. The shared bathroom and shared kitchen was concern at first, but I got used to after the first night. "We loved our 7-night stay at Hilltop vacation rental! We had the economy room with a view of the ocean and it was very cool to wake up to the sun rising. The room was clean, there was a shower and bathroom and all of the necessary essentials for our stay—coffee maker, small fridge, etc…The parking was a bit tight, but our rental Jeep fit into the parking spots! It was a quiet and peaceful stay. Would definitely recommend! "

"It is a very interesting place. There is no air conditioning, so you hear all of the nature sounds - most of which I couldn't identify. It is unbelievably clean!!! The owner has much pride in it. "My husband and I stayed there for four nights and we had the most wonderful time there. Every morning was a different type of fresh cut fruit, mostly grown in the property and home bake goods. It was delicious! The room was small but comfortable and was exactly what we were looking for. The property and location was great too. It was a 10 minutes walk to rainbow falls and 5 minutes drive to downtown Hilo. "
