"We were here for a couple of days and had a wonderful stay! The place is kept clean, and it sits right by the ski hill. Nothing beats a soak in the hot public bath after a day of skiing. Also loved the breakfast and dinner! The gem though was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and went out of the way to help us. "

"The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. "We stayed in the South building. The staff are incredible. Attentive and professional. Food and service was outstanding. Room was small but comfortable. So good having ski in ski out. Godala at the door and we were lucky it snowed and we had good skiing in mid Dec. Only thing I would have changed was to book the 3 bed room for a bit more space and views over the ski field. Bus from Nagano Station was easy to catch with luggage."

However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10am"
