Lovely building & grounds but still close to Canterbury town centre. Only possible downsides - refurb of restaurant not finished yet but hotel clearly communicated this before we went... besides, it's only 10 minute walk into town anyway which has lots of bars and restaurants. - tea & coffee in room but no...

"This is one of the best value for money rooms in canterbury. We had a free breakfast included which was superb. You get a free visit to the cathedral included, which would otherwise be £20 per person. The location is perfect and you have a lovely view of the cathedral from the lodge. "

"A lovely quirky hotel in an ideal location. It was spotless, comfortable and the staff were all very helpful. It was lovely to walk (safely!) across the roof to go to breakfast, admiring the view of the cathedral. The only downside was traffic noise but that is obviously to be expected if you stay in a hotel in the centre of a vibrant city."

"Good location, walkable to Canterbury Cathedral. Good single room, comfortable bed. Hosts were very friendly and helped me up to my room by carrying my suitcase. Since I was on the top floor, this was much appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful starting with continental choices and then a full cooked meal with several choices on the menu. Very good value for the cost."
