"Lovely hotel, previously stayed when it was Lacanda san Barnaba and the upgrade is really great, whilst still keeping the originsl ceiling frescos and other features. Great new updsted bathrooms. Great communal areas as well as fab breakfast. Only slight niggle was not much hanging space and no drawers but easily manageable. Overall a great stay"

"I liked being greeted by staff like I was an old friend. They sat us comfortably in a cozy lobby area with drinks and warmth. To be honest until we got here I was not liking Italy at all. This hotel and staff was/is all the good stories I have heard about Italy. I liked it so much I changed our trip and extended our stay here in Venice another day. "This is a really great property in an amazing location. We had the Magnolia apartment and the living room and bedrooms are huge. The palazzo is beautifully restored and it is such a comfortable place. We were able to get a water taxi directly to and from so no dragging luggage around Venice. I highly recommend staying here. "

"Very comfortable beds, and clean room with good water pressure in the shower. Extremely welcoming and courteous staff—Giovanni was at the property every day to answer our questions and was genuinely friendly and helpful. The only slight downside for our stay was a very noisy family with a baby in the room above ours—the sound really travels in this building, just like most older buildings in Venice—however this wasn’t a big issue for us and was not the fault of the hotel. "The hotel is a former Palazzo. Everything about it is impeccable. The staff knows you by name. The food is excellent. The location is perfect, far enough away from the crowds but close enough that everything is within walking distance would definitely stay there again when I go back to (Venice)"

Even if you take a vaporetto it's a winding walk through the streets---only a taxi could get you conveniently to this hotel.
