"Our stay has been pleasant. The staffs' English proficiency is quite well, at least we are able to communicate well. The environment is very good, quiet and clean. It's located in an area nearing a lot of famous restaurants and shops. The room is also quite big for such a price. I would love to stay here again if I visit Kyoto next time."

"We loved this hotel and its location in Kyoto. We walked to many attractions from the hotel as it is very convenient for tourists. Some of the nearby dining was fantastic and less than a two minute walk from the hotel. Hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. "

"This was the best hotel stay in my whole life! To start the property I believe is a refurbished historic ryokan so it definitely has the charm of a traditional stay while being luxury appointed ! I cannot speak better about staff here they were so helpful they went out of there way to make sure we had everything , greet us, open doors, offer us umbrellas on rainy days! We did also pay for breakfast and that was truly such a cool experience, taxi was waiting for us in the morning to bring us to...

"Loved this hotel - the onsen is incredible, beautiful view. Room was more spacious than other hotels we visited in Japan - nice to have the entry area and couch seating. The rooftop bar with complimentary daily drinks was a really nice spot to relax. We would absolutely return!"

"Loved how large the room was! Loved the in-room washing machine/dryer. The location was unbeatable - right in heart of several street markets and steps away from the train station. The only downside was that there was a smell coming from the washing machine - given it’s front loading, it needs to be left open after use, but I think it’s always left closed?"

"I didn't expect that it would be a whole house just for myself! The service was splendid, very polite and helpful. The house has everything you need, i.e. all the dishes. The interior is traditional and, very comfortable and nice."

"The spa room was lovely - but beware - we paid for 3 people - but because one of the beds is a futon, they charge you over $100USD per day to make the bed (and you can’t ask them not to). Not only was this misleading - they didn’t clean each day (left garbage, didn’t wipe anything down, etc). Property is lovely, but customer service is terrible."

"The room was very spacious with a separate living room and kitchenette. The beds were Japanese style and very low to the ground so be aware if you have trouble getting up. The location was perfect and the staff were very helpful. We would stay here again."

"This was a great location and beautiful place! The only thing worth mentioning is the under whelming breakfast with cold tempura, especially for the price. I would skip the breakfast option and go with something else. Everything else was great!!"
