"After the warm welcome, we were shown to our room and all the room facilities were explained properly. The property has so much fascinating history and the current owners have gone thru great lengths to keep it all in the best conditions. We loved the breakfast with a great choice. No one is leaving here hungry! "

"Very comfortable room. The first night a little warm but after turning the heating down better the 2nd. Very good water pressure in the shower and good toiletries (white company) Ate both nights of our stay and the food was very good. Staff where very good through out the hotel but it was a little frustrating when our dessert arrived without any cutlery and it took 5 mins before they noticed. Good location for Chatsworth and other local attractions. Would stay here again."

"Great stay, the room was well presented, warm and cosy. The staff, friendly. The meals in the pub, excellent. Breakfast in the tea room was also 1st class. On our second night, we went to the pubs sister pub, The Anchor, and listened to the folk club. Absolutely brilliant. We will be back."

"What a great hotel. Can't say enough positive things about my experience. Room was lovely, clean, good value, great location and ambience, but the service and food were even better. I had early starts both mornings of my stay and it was not too much bother for Helen on the front desk and Paul?, the chef to open the kitchen slightly early for me. The food was wonderful and good value and Helen couldn't have been more helpful. This is what an independent hotel / restaurant should be like. Thanks...
