"A beautiful hotel in an excellent location! The rooms were very clean and spacious. The design of the hotel is stunning, with a charming roof terrace and lovely lounge room, where breakfast is served. The staff were welcoming and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay here again! "

"We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was much newer, cleaner, and more spacious than many other hotels we've stayed at in Italy. The style and layout felt more like an American hotel — modern, comfortable, and very functional.
The amenities were excellent. We especially appreciated the free laundry facilities, which are rare in Europe. The rooftop bar was a highlight — great atmosphere, excellent drinks, and an incredible view. The pool was small but nicely done, and the entire experience felt easy and relaxing.
One thing to note is that the hotel is quite large, and navigating between buildings requires changing elevators. It’s not difficult, but if you’re in a rush, it can be a bit inconvenient. Still, it's a small trade-off for the overall comfort and quality.
I think this hotel is best suited for families and younger travelers. While there are elevators and it’s accessible, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for older guests looking for a smaller, more central boutique-style stay. That said, it’s still a much more comfortable option compared to many of the older, smaller hotels in Europe.
The location is a bit outside the city center, but still very manageable with public transportation or taxis.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return."
"Great location and very convenient to get to the centre, to the restaurants, museums and rail station and airport.
About 20 mins drive from the airport, 15mins walk to the main rail station or 20mins walk along the river to the OLD Bridge. Great view if you are walking along the river.
Also great customer service by all the staff.
Although the swimming pool is on the small size but the view of the city from the roof top made up for it. I would recommend this hotel if you are going to Florence for a short stay. "
"only problem was a/c- and it was the hotest Florence had been in years. The rooftop bar was excellent. Great people, the staff was pleasant and attentive. Go there!"
"Our stay at Hotel Calimala was nothing short of incredible. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Florence, just a short walk from the Duomo, Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, and some of the city’s most elegant shops and restaurants. It made exploring the city effortless.
The hotel itself was immaculately clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail felt intentional. What truly set it apart, though, was the service. Gemma was exceptional - warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
We’re already looking forward to our next stay. Hotel Calimala will definitely be our go-to in Florence."
"The restaurant is on the fifth floor it was beautiful. You can see the whole city. The breakfast options are fantastic. Diners were some of the best food we had in Florence. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is a great place and we will use it again. "
"Spacious room. Great staff, nice upscale hotel. It's a bit far from the city center and not a lot of dining options right by the hotel. Need to walk to get to better choices. About 25 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio bridge, and about the same to the Duomo to give a better idea of location. If you don't mind the location I would definitely recommend a stay here"
