"We were so happy with our hotel room at the Bocardo which is on George Street so nice and central to everything in Oxford. We did a lot of sight seeing and tourist activities and everything was only a few minutes walk away. The reception staff also gave us a map and marked out our locations for us on it which was really helpful. Our room was nice and spacious with big windows that opened and also had effective curtains that blocked out the light. As an added bonus the room also had air conditioning which can be rare in the UK. We were so comfortable there and the staff were lovely and so kind. We would highly recommend the Bocardo to anyone staying in Oxford."

We had a twin room with an ensuite, which was clean, but some features felt very dated, especially the wardrobe and carpet. The beds were comfortable, though. Unfortunately, we found it quite noisy. It wasn’t just the building work outside you could hear people walking past due to creaky floorboards, and the noise from the room above sounded like a herd of elephants, even with earplugs in. Breakfast was included, but we were told at check-in that it was only a continental breakfast, not a cooked one. That said, it was decent for what it was. The staff were very helpful and friendly, which was a definite plus. Overall, the building feels quite dated, but the location is excellent very close to the town centre and the new theatre, all within walking distance. There’s also a car park just a minute away, costing £12.50 per day."

"The room was well equiped with everything we needed as well as being spotlessly clean. It was especially nice to have a big screen tv, a fridge and ironing equipment as well as a digital bedside clock. The air con worked really well. The breakfast was really nice with a good selection of items for full english as well as contental. The only thing we were disappointed with was the bacon which looked very tasty but didnt taste very nice at all. The sausages however, were excellent. The hotel is only a short walk from the station and is very close to many shops, pubs and other attractions."

"Nice hotel in a lovely location if you like a bit of a walk. Rooms are renovated and property is well maintained. Larger size bed was very comfortable. Some things don't match the ambition. For example, no way to get coffee in the morning. My room had an electric cattle."

"The hotel is very interesting with it's prison history, though that is also slightly a hinderance. We were in the Houses of Correction and it didn't really feel part of the hotel, you had to leave the main hotel travel across the courtyard to another building that actually felt a little bit like a travel lodge heading to our room. The staff were amazing though, from check-in, to room service, to breakfast and checkout - So absolutely nothing to fault there! I'd just recommend requesting a room in the main part of the hotel as that might be better than what we had."

"This is definitely your standard mid-tier hotel. Nothing was overtly wrong, but the property definitely shows its age and would benefit from some upgrades. The location is great. "

"We had a wonderful stay at The Store. It is perfectly situated in the center of Oxford. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was far more than the usual American continental breakfast with several nice options you can order from a menu. The onsite restaurant was great and the rooftop bar was a bonus with an amazing view."
