Staff support was lacking. I tried calling the hotel 7 times at various points in a 3 hour span before arrival, no one picked up. Then when we got there, the front desk was unsure about amenities and were not that welcoming, not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. The room was nice and spacious, but our lights kept flickering or shutting off. The fire alarm started beeping at 7 am one day as well, disturbing our baby. When checking out, there was no one available to help us and the worker at the front just watched my husband load luggage in the car, did not help at all.
For reference, we are very familiar with 5 star service, have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world including Four Seasons, various Ritz Carltons, Dorchester group hotels, jumeirah group hotels, mandarin oriental. Despite being a beautiful historic building, this hotel lacked and felt more like a 3 star hotel.
