"This was my second visit to the Djorff Palace and it was every bit as good as the first. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the Nile close to the valley of the kings. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with an excellent air conditioning unit. Relaxing pool area with great sun beds set up daily with towels. Great breakfast and freshly cooked meals at lunchtime and dinner time, with daily changing menu. A huge bonus is the hotelโ€™s own river boat that will take you across the Nile for free or down to the old town centre for a small charge and will then bring you back when your ready to return. Would highly recommendโ€ฆ."

Al Moudira Hotel

Al Moudira Hotel

8/10 Good
"you have to come in with appropriate expectations. This is Egypt and it's Luxor. The pictures make this look very beautiful, and a lot of the resort is picturesque, but what you don't see is you get dropped off on a street and walk through a metal detector, there are A LOT of mosquitoes, and the rooms are tired. I mean, I walked in and could see from across the room that the mattress was shot, with huge depressions where people had been sleeping over the years, and my back hurt all week. The air conditioners worked but were super loud. The rooms are huge but pretty dilapidated, with weird bathrooms. The pool was really nice and the staff were very nice. Our guide warned us that many of his clients staying here had gotten 'food poisoning', and I did indeed get travelers diarrhea here. I cannot be sure where I got it but we only ate at the hotel and Im a doctor who is very germaphobic and Im an experienced traveler, I never touch tap water even for the toothbrush. I was the only one of my family who ate salad twice, so that is a possible source. I should know better than ordering a salad, but I thought it would be safe in the hotel. Totally my fault, but would ask the hotel to make sure they are not washing vegetables in tap water. The doctor on site was super nice and helpful and gave me cipro/flagyl which took care of it in a couple of days. We ended our stay early. I will not be coming back. Its probably nice by Luxor standards, just set your expectations appropriately."

Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel

Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The hotel itself was extremely clean, and our room was a good size with a lovely view overlooking the River Nile. The room was well maintained, and the air conditioning worked exceptionally well. Free WiFi, it worked very well in the main areas of the hotels but dropped out in our room on occasion. Lots of space in the bathroom for your toiletries, shower could have been a bit more powerful but ok. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. We stayed on a half-board basis and were pleased with the food throughout our stay. The food was consistently good and we always found something we enjoyed. A special mention should go to the restaurant staff, who were always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. In particular both Ahmed and Amhed provided excellent service throughout our stay and helped make our dining experience even more enjoyable. The swimming pool area was clean and well looked after, providing a relaxing place to unwind after sightseeing. The area around the hotel was also very clean and felt safe to walk around. The hotelโ€™s location is excellent for exploring Luxor on foot. We were able to walk to Luxor Temple, the Mummification Museum, Luxor Museum, and even Karnak Temple, making it a great base for sightseeing. Overall, this is a clean, comfortable hotel with good food, excellent service, and an ideal location. We would happily stay here again."

Nile Cruise Luxor and Aswan 3 & 4 nights

10/10 Excellent
"Sayed and his team did a great job. Followed through on everything. We arrived at the airport, had a driver/tour guide, went on a tour, then to boat, which was as advertised. There are a lot of boat options - so I just asked for photos of the exact boat which he sent, and it was exactly that. This was all arranged on short notice too. The tour guides were generally good and vehicles all great which was nice after coming from Cairo where a taxi/Uber quality is so poor. I would recommend book and ask them to handle everything you need in Aswan to Luxor to have a great trip. A cruise is peaceful and a nice way to see the countryside. I only wish I had done a bit longer one as its a lot of temples to see in only 3 nights"
