"The hotel is overall okay. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. Traveling as a solo female, I felt very safe in the area and the hotel. They’re remodeling the hotel so there’s a loud drilling noise- I guess my only complaint."

"Overall the hotel was good, it just has 1 major problem… there’s a lack of elevators. It’s a big hotel with only 2, so it’s very difficult to get in and out of the property. I wouldn’t stay there again unless I was on the first floor, and definitely don’t stay there if you’re elderly and can’t take the stairs."

"I often stay at the Athena the night before my return flight to Canada because it is close to Paddington Station and the excellent new Elizabeth Line, which goes to Heathrow for just 14 pounds. This time I was given an upgrade to a bigger room on the top floor, which would have served a small family quite well. It was quite warm outside, but the attic room was not at all stuffy. The windows open, and you can leave them ajar at night because the street goes quiet, and the hotel is set back...
