"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!"

"The rooms had forced-air air conditioning, but it was not working at all on a very hot night. The windows only open an inch or so, and while that allowed in the noise from the bar courtyard below, it did nothing to alleviate the heat. The staff did provide a fan when asked. Otherwise, I would not have been able to sleep at all. Bottom line, avoid Malmaison when the weather is hot."

"For the price it was good value. The electric ceiling fan was reasonable at keeping it bearable on hot night. If you are sensitive to noise ask to be at the back of the guest house."

"The bed was broken or not put together. We spent all night putting the bed back together. It was apparently two single beds. It was a nightmare as my daughter had exams needed a good nights sleep. I told them that before we arrived. There was mould on the shower . I am asthmatic!Strange staircase which did not help my mobility issues. All night people walking and partying Above and keeping us awake all night! My daughter went to the exam with 2 hours sleep and failed the exam. All of the above...

Only down point to the room is a floor piece trim could be put down between bedroom and bathroom due to the different height of flooring it’s a toe stubber opportunity. "The staff were very helpful and parking was a breeze! Our room was snug, comfortable, and quiet. It's hard for our family of 4 to enjoy sharing a room, but this was a great spot! The location is great for walking to City Center and avoiding the congestion fees. Some might find the walk too far and although we didn't take the bus, it would have been easy because there were a ton of stops heading into City Center."
