"The Beach House is a stunning period hotel with an amazing history. We’ve stayed here several times before, and always loved our visits, when we previously found the hotel’s bedrooms to be well equipped, comfortable and spacious. However, on this occasion we were unprepared to find our allocated room not being inside the main hotel but instead was located in a small, draughty annex on the other side of the hotel car park, which wasn’t ideal as we had a lot of wet and windy weather during our stay, and this made the short outdoor walk to and from the main hotel rather unpleasant and so this took the edge off our enjoyment. Our allocated room was described in the promotional material as a “Comfy Double”. Whilst the double bed was indeed very comfortable, I would say a better description of the room itself would be cramped rather than comfy! There was no wardrobe or chest of drawers anywhere in the bedroom, we only had a few pegs on the wall and a handful of hangers, so we kept most of our clothes inside our two small open suitcases on the floor area surrounding our bed, which wasn’t great and somewhat of a trip hazard to say the least, as there was very minimal space on either side of our bed. The bathroom was basic but clean with a nice warm towel rail and lovely big fluffy towels! Would’ve preferred a flexible shower head rather than the static raindance head though. We’d definitely revisit but next time we will make sure we request a room inside the main hotel!"

"We stayed in the room named needles which is a nice spacious room with en-suite. Looked like it had recently being refurbished. The bed was too soft for my liking but that is just a personal preference not a criticism. There’s no reception you let yourself in using a key safe at the main entrance. Plenty of parking to the side & not a long walk from the main entrance. The restaurant is closed Monday & Tuesdays but there’s plenty of restaurants nearby. We used cliff house which is a 10 min walk along the sea front. Breakfast on these mornings is continental. We had breakfast here on a Wednesday morning & is very good , well cooked & plenty of choice for all it also has a great view of the channel. Overall this is a great place to stay."

"Lovely peaceful location just around the corner from the beach. Small shop, cafes and bar near by, we’d recommend a visit to the ice cream parlour - lots of flavours with vegan and doggy options. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. Check-in was seamless and the host responded quickly to all communications. Only downside was no enclosed outside space for our dogs"
