"The room is modest, which is what I expected. That said, perfect for my purposes as a solo traveller. Clean, functional, well situated. The fitness centre is a few weights, weight machines, rubber bands, and mats. Two huge pluses: the nearness of Tabata metro station, and the varied and excellent breakfasts. Oh, and the availability of a drinks machine which provided hot or cold coffee, tea or water any time of the day or night. Tokens to supplement your drinks and food arrangements were a nice touch, too. I even used the bath my final night. For light sleepers, be forewarned there will be noise from the station next door. Itโ€™s impossible to escape except if you have noise cancelling headphones. Me, I eventually got used to it. Since this is Tokyo, which has a fantastic if somewhat bewildering array of transit options, I suspect it would be difficult to find a noise proof hotel in the city. Be that as it may, I would return to this hotel."

"The room was on the smaller side, though that was perfect for my needs. Enough room for an unpacked suitcase, my purchases, and myself. The bathroom and shower were spotless, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, access to the station was quick and easy (though it was a bit out of the heart of tokyo so make sure to add about 30-40 minutes to your commute plans to get into town) the area was quiet, welcoming, and clean. There is a 7/11 within spitting distance of the property, and the guest lounge was bright, large, full of everything you could need on the day to day, and had an impeccable view for a first time traveller. Pair all of this with a more than reasonable price, and you make for a wonderful time. I would highly recommend OHWA Hostel Minowa Station to solo travellers, and hope to come back one day."

"We had a wonderful stay at Super Hotel Akabane. After a ridiculous 22-hour delay to our incoming flight, the staff were incredibly accommodating to ensure we were able to check in after normal hours. The hotel is right next to Akabane Station which made trips a breeze. And the hot springs at the hotel is incredible. We'll definitely be staying there again!"

"Solo traveling woman, USA, I had an amazing experience! I'm practicing Japanese and the employees were incredibly patient and kind when speaking and allowing me to try to speak as well! I did not feel any condescending or rude behavior and everyone was very hospitable! I also felt very safe here in the neighborhood is very quiet and, although slightly out of the way, preferred since I didn't hear much noise or have many issues with lots of people coming in and out. The place is old but very traditional and enjoyable to stay in! It came with a yukata which was super cute and fun to wear!! They provided all of the amenities I needed and the bath was so comfortable! There was no women staying at the same time as me. So during the bath time I got it all to myself~ at first it was a bit awkward going downstairs in my yukata to shower and bathe, but after the first day I got very used to it! There isn't a laundry in the hotel but there's one super close by and the walk was super easy and lots of vending machines on the way! The staff doesn't speak much English but I was totally fine with that and honestly it was preferred! They seemed to be able to speak enough if needed though~ as a solo traveling woman, I highly suggest this spot~ It was my very first time traveling solo as well!"
