"Amazing location literally across the street from Rockefeller Center and Radio City on 51st between 5th and 6th Ave.; loved being able to walk across for a quick bite or a cup of coffee. No more than a 5 to10-minute walk to Central Park, Times Square, theatre district, subway, shopping, and more. Radio City was hosting the Tony Awards while we were there, so there was some setup/teardown noise on the street overnight, but that's the way it goes when you're in such a central location; it was all...

"This is a small boutique hotel right near Times Square. It’s on a quiet street but right near all the fun things in NYC. The staff at the front desk are all attentive and helpful. The hotel is extremely clean, the cleaning staff are wonderful, and the free breakfast was amazing! I have nothing bad to say about this hotel."

"Room on 18th floor was well appointed, clean and quiet (except for very loud HVAC). Express elevator was very efficient. Staff exceedingly friendly. Great location though getting to and from via Times Square less than ideal. World Cup soccer fans completely took over Times Square Friday night and it was very difficult for us to push through crowds to get back to hotel from our night out. Avoid walking through Times Square whenever possible!"

"Such great hotel all around. Great location, I had a beautiful view from my 10th floor room. I traveled solo and felt very safe at the Civilian. Walking distance to Broadway shows, Central Park, Hell' Kitchen and Times Square! Staff was also so helpful and welcoming."

"Hotel was clean with a fantastic location between the Radio City and Times Square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was fine but it was tiny. It did have a full kitchen and big fridge so it would be great for a solo business traveler. Was as quiet as you could expect for a block from Times Square. Would I stay there again? Maybe, but I'd still look around first. You can do much worse for the price."
