"Genuinely one of my favorite stays. The view was incredible. The morning of our stay, we wake up walk out to the slider and have an amazing view of a calm lake with mt Fuji in the background. The appliances and projector were of great quality, and the private onsen/sauna combo was perfect. Would stay again next time we are in tokyo."

"This was our favourite stay for our whole Japan trip. We stayed at 3 other hotels. This place and area is unbeatable and i wish I would’ve booked a second night. I didn’t know that I would want to live this day again. The staff were ridiculously kind and helpful. At the end of our stay, I asked which bus and where I should take to get to Hakone-Yumi to and she literally left her post and started running to help me catch the bus. My son enjoyed free ice cream from the vending machine (which he loved). The band in the lobby before dinner was such a nice touch. The dinner and breakfast were perfect. Honestly, just the perfect relaxing spot for us. Would go back for sure. "

"This hotel was just magical. The room was plenty spacious to accommodate our family of 4 (with two teenagers) and the included dinner and breakfast in the separate restaurant (with private rooms) were delicious. We felt very spoiled! We loved the public baths and did not opt to go to the private bath rooms as we basically had the entire public bath area to ourselves. The funicular that took us down to the public baths was such a fun surprise. And after dinner, they set up a bar and snacks/dessert in the lobby. "

"Included breakfast selection is limited but quite good ... lineup and waiting period for unreservable breakfast was disappointing. Dinner dining times are too short ... but dinner choices are decent."

"This hotel was good-hearted and the food was Japanese artistry. It is an older property and has a very “mountain lodge” kind of feel. The food was interesting but challenging for an unadventurous North American eater. It goes well beyond sushi to escargot and tiny octopi (squids?) over cucumber and a miso sauce. I was impressed with the look of this but I am weak on seafood and so it wasn’t that easy to eat. I expect that it is very seasonal and probably changes to make sure the food is the freshest. The hotel itself is very high up the mountain, with a few walking trails nearby but no other. The hotsprings older facilities but again, overall very nice. It is very close to the bus stop, where the bus comes often from Hakone Yumoto station to Lake Ashinoko and back so that is convenient."
