"Overall, our 2 night stay at the Silversmith didn't meet expectations. I wasn't expecting anything fancy as I don't seek out "fancy" when booking a hotel. I just look for clean and comfortable with very good service. Unfortunately, this was not the case at the Silversmith. The room furnishings were rather worn, the bed was soft, the pillows were very lumpy and the curtains were not attached properly. Parts of the bathroom had been remodeled and were new, while other fixtures were dingy. ...

"Our room was clean and efficient. Very content with our stay. Just had the premium quad since there for a short time and wasn’t in room much. I recommend staying as the location is good for sightseeing with everything in walking distance "

"BEWARE: I booked and paid for this hotel a month in advance. My train was delayed a few hours, so I arrived at the hotel about 7pm. However, I completed an echeck-in at the hotels request at 1pm. Upon arriving, there was a short line of people waiting to check-in and they were upset and asking to speak with a manager. When I got to the counter with my 2 kids, I was told they sold my room and there wasn't anything available for us. And on top of that, the money I had paid for the 2 nights stay...

"Ambassador Gold Coast Hotel was alright at best. Charging a $150 deposit for the room was excessive and disappointing. The staff was okay, but most of them seemed to have an attitude, which made the experience less enjoyable. "

"I had an amazing view of Lake Michigan and the area but unfortunately Michigan Ave is very noisy at all times of the day and night. In addition, there were no black out shades and due to the rooms facing East, the sunrise was bright and early. I had to buy a sleeping mask just to sleep to 7am. The hotel is located in a great area so if you can overlook those issues, then you’d be fine. "

"Staff is excellent. Breakfast was below standards - muffins, fruit, juice, and a couple breakfast sandwiches the staff put in the microwave. I’d pass on the breakfast. Nice location. Rooms were okay - the bed in our room was full of cat scratches."

"Love going to this historic hotel, a gorgeous throwback in time. Lobby area amazing, had a great martini cocktail at the bar. Huge workout area. Walkable distance to Soldier Field for a concert."
