Unique and friendly boutique hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely boutique hotel within walking distance of most major museums. Casa Howard was very clean, and the breakfast-to-order served to the room every morning was extraordinary. We had 2 rooms - one with a lovely little balcony. Our room had a large bathroom with a shower. The second room only had a large bathtub with a handheld shower. We were traveling with an older family member and it was very difficult for him to get in and out of the bathtub. Otherwise we loved the hotel and especially appreciated the great suggestions and assistance from the concierge. They arranged taxis, recommended restaurants, and were happy to chat. We felt well looked-after. We will be back!

We stayed in the Double Zebra Room and it was honestly one of the most beautifully designed rooms. Super clean, spacious, and full of personality. Breakfast in bed was a lovely touch - arrived right on time and really good. I also loved that they use Officina Profumo toiletries, such a nice detail. Overall, a really special stay in Florence.

We stayed 4 nights at Casa Howard. The property is conveniently located in the heart of the historic center with easy walking access to all the main attractions. We stayed in the camel room and it was fairly spacious. Our main concerns was that we had a leaking AC unit that was not fixed and so we had to lay a towel on the ground to soak up the water everyday. It also made a loud dripping sound that echoed in the room at night making it difficult for any light sleeper. It is also very loud in the morning due to breakfast service, so if you like to sleep in you’ll be woken up at 8-9am everyday. We didn’t try any of the food on their in-house menu but it looked good. Overall, the location was the best part of the stay and I would check out other neighbouring options before rebooking here. It is also worth noting that none of the rooms have a safe, so if you have valuables that you’d prefer to store in a safe while you’re gone that won’t be possible. If you have a car, parking is offsite but very close by (3 min walk).

Casa Howard truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Firstly, the convenient location made exploring the city a breeze. Easy walk to the Uffizi and Duomo! The hotel's beautiful decor created a charming ambiance, and the unique room designs added a touch of character. We ended up upgrading our room halfway thru our weeklong stay to try out another room with a tub. However, what truly stood out was the incredibly helpful staff, who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout my visit. I highly recommend Casa Howard to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Florence.

Hard to find/funky smell!!

The pictures that you see on hotel.com are nothing like the place. We stayed in the garden room and to get tho said room, you go thru a sitting area, this area has a nasty, horrible smell. The room is tiny, the decor is very odd. The bed was comfortable but there was mosquitos in our room. breakfast is served in your room. Location is good and the staff was very nice.

Horrible place to stay

The photo and descriptions of the hotel on the advertised web page are misleading, the place is very dirty, you can't use the shower as it's tiny and very dirty. We stayed one night and next morning when packing my luggage there was a spider over my luggage, I had to leave the place first thing in the morning as thus was worse place I ever stayed at.

Every rooms has different therms, which is nice, if the a/c, wifi and tv works properly. The hotel manager/ front desk/ cleaning lady/ room service, a Filipino lady, was very friendly and helpful. I don't like the location and the house # is very small. You will miss it if you blink. Will not return

Booked this last minute from a flight cancellation. The staff was great and very accomodating with recommendations and stowing our luggage long after check-out. The room itself was so-so: had a smell, air conditioner made the room humid, no hand towells, and missing outlets left open for some reason. Rated a 4 star online, but in Italy all 4's are really 3's. All-in-all, it served it's purpose and was close to the train station. ✌️

Be sure to arrive within their timeline!

We were on our honeymoon and doing some sight seeing, so we took some extra time in pompeii, and consequently our drive to florence took longer than anticipated. We ended up arriving at the hotel around 7am the morning after our intended arrival date. We were promptly met with a bad attitude asking why we didn't call them and let them know we would be late. Apart from not having a phone to use while in italy, I've never thought it to be necessary to have a designated arrival time for a service I'm paying for. Read the booking notes. If you want to check in outside of the 2pm-8 pm window it could cost you an extra 100 euros. The room was nice, the bed kind of hard, and The wifi service didn't reach the room. I will seek out different hotel accommodations for my next trip to florence.

Disappointing stay

This was surprisingly disappointing as I had booked based on some positive reviews I saw for this hotel. We had an extra bed request that would not be accommodated for and we were being unnecessarily charged 30 Euros for the extra bed request we originally put in when we booked. If I had been contacted by the hotel the after my booking went through, I could have made better accommodations. However, I wasn’t told until I got to the guesthouse and a woman was rudely snapping at me and telling me that we couldn’t stay in the terrace room we had originally booked. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to let me talk to him, saying “he won’t talk to you”. She refused to give me her name or talk to anyone that could give us proper customer service. Eventually given another room with an extra bed, but the rudeness of the lady turned me off from the guesthouse and felt downright insulting. Entire building had a smell about it, too. Room were cold. Only positive is that it's about 10 min walk from the train station. Not worth a stay if you're looking for a decent guest-house/b&b experience, Never planning on going near this hotel again.

Terrible hotel, terrible experience

Buyer Beware. I would advise all potential customers to avoid this hotel. The room pictures on expedia did not match the room that we actually stayed in and the customer service was a terrible. The room was very dated, with old elephant wallpaper and random VHS movies on the bookshelf in the bedroom, and the remains of a rock climbing wall in the main living space. The carpet was old and had a musty smell which filled the air of the entire hotel room. The front desk attendant was very disorganized and he was very hard to get in touch with. On the day of we were informed by email that there is a late policy where you would be charged at least 100 euros if you do not notify the hotel that you will be checking in after 7pm. Very convenient for guest who are traveling and may have limited access to a phone or the internet. My guess is that the front desk attendant is not always at the hotel in the evening because when we arrived to check in we couldn't get into the property or reach him. Also when we returned to pick up our bags the following day around 7:30pm (he held them for us after we checked out) we had to wait 15-20min for him to return from who knows where. Overall I was very disappointed by the service, the hotel check in policy, and the appearance of the entire facility. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!
