"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

"Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome."

"I have never had such good sleep outside my home. We had an excellent experience here. The location is perfect, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials. We’ll definitely be returning on our next trip to Sheffield and highly recommend it to others. We had a top tier stay and were honestly blown away, everything exceeded our expectations."

"This was hands down the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and cheery. They made us feel at home and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The wait staff was exceptional as well. The food was excellent, the setting idyllic, and location walkable to The Chatsworth House! "Excellent location, lovely staff and clean rooms with a great shower for post-hike/bike. The rooms were a little hot during the heatwave, even at night where the temperature outside was a good 10 degrees cooler than inside the room. Windows were not large enough to provide sufficient airflow I think The restaurant was not worth the price - there are plenty of fantastic, cheaper options in the nearby hathersage/hope area. "Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open."

"Lovely old pub with accomodation upstairs. Room was a little dated but had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast - the food was excellent."
