"The George in Hathersage is ideally located to explore the Peak District National Park. We had a standard room which wasn't overly large but perfectly adequate, including a large bed. The bathroom had up-to-date sanitaryware, including a fullsize bath with shower over. From the bathroom there were a few steps up to the bedroom. Central heating, tea/coffee facilities and modern furnishings. Staff were lovely to deal with whether in Reception, or the bar, or in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Full dinner menu was also available every evening and a rather quaint service of serving pizza cooked to order all day. Car park was quite spacious, including two EV charging points, and had a barrier to control entry and exit. No hesitation in recommending The George for your stay in the Peak District. "

"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

"Pretty property, booked last minute and no problem with the instructions or entry. Comfortable, but the shower doesn't work (very weak, keeps dropping to stone cold or scalding hot halfway through) and the kitchen/bathroom both need a deep clean not just a wipe - had to wash up everything in the kitchen cupboards before use. Without this would be a very nice stay, as is can't recommend sorry."
