"Room, balcony, bay view, maid, all staff. Excellent. Restaurant and food awful. Bar prices extortionate. No atmosphere in bar because no one was in due to prices. No atmosphere in restaurant. Hadn’t got a mix of ages. All old and and a high percentage with special needs which made it a depressing place. However all staff were young, helpful and very pleasant. Bay view to die for. Our stay was somewhat spoiled by drunken guests and their friends in the next room making excessive noise and shouting between 12.30-2.30 am, keeping us awake, security was called twice to try and resolve and did offer us a rom change in the middle of the night which was not practical. "The room had a smell like cat urine but looked clean.The person who first dealt with us was matter of fact no smile not welcoming and refused to give my husband a receipt until we left he also didn’t tell us it would be emailed to us.All the other staff were lovely the air conditioning was great breakfast average. "Nice, cheap clean place to stay. It's very basic but thats all we were after. If we were to stay in Torquay again, we would probably stay in the same hotel. Although be aware there are no plug sockets near the beds"

"They lied and said it was a seafront but inside it wasn’t. Fan was very slow and low quality and it was a tiny desk fan. The room was hot as there was no ac and I couldn’t sleep due to heat."

"The whole of the place said disaster to us. The staff were very rude. They also didn’t even give a smile. The cleaning of the room was absolutely terrible. The inside of the cupboards where you put your clothes were all drips of coffee the pigeons you couldn’t open the window as they were just sat outside watching when we asked for help nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. "I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!"
