Hotel Grand Victorian

8/10 Good

"It was a super cute place to stay! Had issues with our TV it would turn on but couldn't turn it off lol had to unplug it! Also lack of outlets with me having to use a CPAP machine i had to find where to plug in as a couple outlets didnt work. Could also benefit with adding a couple ISB ports but all in all was a great place!!"

"Meh for the property, borderline neh. Yeh for the Staff, they were great. Rooms were clean, but this is an older hotel with older features so room was very musty. We went and bought an air purifier because we had a baby. To be fair, thats us being a bit extra. Property itself was clean, but again needed updates. Worst comment, and its fairly bad, is the pizza incident. We brought back pizza to the room to eat and play board games. We were playing board games on the beds, and every so often grabbing slices of pizza from the table a feet or two over. At one point, i went to grab a slice i was eating, and two small roaches scurried away. They had got in to the pizza box from somewhere. The fact that they were baby roaches, and had gotten to the food that quick was pretty telling. Must mean their is an active infestation. I live in south texas, trust me i know what an active roach infestation looks like. So yea, nice staff and cleanish property but it needs an updating and good deep cleaning. If youre balling on a budget, then hey you wont die here and the sleep wont be bad either (just might not be sleeping alone). Probably wouldnt come back, solely because im no longer ballin on a budget. Well i guess i am, but my budget is more so Shake Shack and not so much McDonalds. If that makes sense."

"Dirty property with cigarette butts all over the place and overflowing garbage cans in the parking lot. Tall weeds in beds where flowers should be. Not how a quality well run property should look. They sent me a welcome text saying if I need anything to text a reply. There wasn't a DND flag in my room so I asked for someone to bring one to my room. Never brought it and never replied to my text. I went to the front desk the next morning and got one. TV was junk. Didn't have the original remote so it was a challenge to get a preferred channel. No mute button and the numbers on it didn't work so I had to hold down the CH- or CH+ buttons and scroll through all channels. Then the channels weren't synced up right either. Screen would say CNN when it was CBS or NBC when it was FOX or HIST when it was ESPN. Couldn't even get ABC. No signal on a lot of stations. Breakfast wasn't good. Had some mini muffins I couldn't even hardly get down the first bite of. The alarm clock time wasn't set. Sorry, that's not my job. Tiny fridge with little room for anything. I needed a freezer so I could freeze my ice packs, but not even a freezer at all. The carpet in the elevator was absolutely trashed. The color was grime. Price was way too high for this property. There are far better places for much cheaper."
