"It’s a highway stop type inn. It served the purpose we needed. Break-fast included was at the service stop and was sort of a hit break-fast, was okay. Staff were pleasant. Room was very basic, but good enough for what we needed. No fridge in the room though. "

"We had a great few days away after a couple of days at our church conference in Derbyshire. It was a shame they didn’t give clean cups everyday and they forgot to leave a clean shower. Didn’t realise til I was having a shower. Overall it is still a nice place to stay for a couple of days."

"Me and my partner were overall happy with our stay yet we both agreed that a few things could have been better. When we checked in we were told that the person helping us was unsure to give us free breakfast even though our room came with it . We got checked in and made our way to our room, which was not the one that was shown in pictures , after heading down to see what could be done we were given a new room, the new room was great and we both loved it . We found a few hairs in the shower...

"The staff were excellent and very accomywith out children. Sadly the room was not really 4*. The extra bed was very old and couldn’t actually sleep in it. The tv did not work and with 2 children was a bit of a disaster as we had promised them tv before bed. Jacuzzi didn’t work and has not for a long time apparently but it wasn’t communicated to us . Sheets had marks on them. Staff throughout the hotel were excellent and food in evening was great. "

"The hotel has good facilities spa sauna steam room, gym. I was upgraded from my original booking to a suite. I had intended to be a party of two but my wife was not able to attend therefore although it was a very nice gesture to be upgraded unfortunately on this occasion we didn’t gain the full benefit from the suite although it was appreciated. "I always stay at the Lockkeeper when I'm up visiting family. It's clean, comfortable with plenty of parking and excellent wi-fi (I worked from the hotel one day, including video calls). The staff are always welcoming and friendly and I often eat at the pub when I stay. It would be good to have an ashtray by the hotel, the only ashtrays are currently in front of the pub."

"AVOID!!!!! No one nor any info available at check-in. Hosts supplied email address & mobile number weren’t in service/operational. Hotels.com agents, the hosts management company, Travelnest had the same issue, hence their vetting & monitoring processes are very questionable. Extremely distressing & frustrating experience. Wouldn’t wish the above ‘experience’ on anyone else, AVOID!!!"

"Ive stayied here many times, good for the price, areas of my room were slighlty tired especially the bed side tables. The tv in the room is incredibly small. Shower and bathroom, superb. Room 8 is near the exit which would be fine if the main doors had a soft close. Breakfast good. Overal id stay again, no major problems."
