"I go every year to Solihull and I have tried Voco several times. Every time there is something wrong or it is the smell of curry in the corridors or it is the check in or out. This time, the checkout time was at 11 and we came back from breakfast 10:50, to collect our bags and check out but our key didn’t opened the door. "Checked in for 1.30pm, was told it is £10 per hour before 3pm check in - there was no discretion on the 30 mins as the receptionist pursued the £5 for 30 mins so I paid the £15. Checked in to a room with scaffolders outside my window swearing and talking about women with loud music. I headed to reception (bare in mind it is now 1.45 as my room was so far away and there is NO telephone in the rooms). Moved to another room, TV was not working and the there was NO wifi signal. "Great hotel rooms spacious and staff pleasant and helpful. Wonderfully maintained grounds!"

"I requested breakfast but was told they didn’t do it anymore. The stairs were cramped with 2 turns and inadequate/absent rails. We did not meet any staff. There was a note saying how we could ring them. The hot and cold water at the wash basin were plumbed in the wrong way round. I did not see any indicator for which was hot or cold. It matters because this is where you fill the kettle. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm."

"Everything was fine but when it came to breakfast we had to wait over an hour and when it arrived was not very nice, undercooked sausages, gluten free bread given to someone who didn't have a gluten allergy, no cups available for drinks and a giant milk jug which milk poured out of like a fountain. Obviously very understaffed in the restaurant."

"Unfortunately the bathroom shower was really bad. Impossible to turn it on and adjust temp without getting soaked outside the tub . Water sprayed the floor and whole shower experience was average . Bed comfy but pillows lumpy ."

"Receptionists were very friendly and gave us all the information needed. Breakfast had everything you could want and evening meal was fantastic. We would definitely return in the future."
