"Other guests were given Prosecco on arrival but we didn’t.Reception staff did not seem to be that proficient and did not know if they could provide a chair for the shower also the fridge was not working all was put right in the end "

"We had a short, one night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful lobby and big and clean guest rooms. Loved that they actually had a real coffee maker in the room, along with complimentary sweets. Check in was easy and we were able to have them hold our luggage (no cost) as we had to turn in our rental car. Staff was friendly and we were provided special treats at check in. We paid for the buffet breakfast, which was very good and offered a nice array of food options. We felt as though we were in a very safe area and we were able to get to Princes St and the Royal Mile quite easily. "

"This was our second stay at the George. Sadly, this time nowhere near as good. One of our two rooms had a view of a brick wall (approx 2 metres away). I raised this with the hotel and got a standard automated response from their Client Guest Services manager, who also had the temerity to suggest that we upgrade our room! The hotel hosted 3 corporate events during the 4 nights we were there. It felt more like a business hotel."

"The hotel is in a good location, close enough to everything but slightly away from the hustle and bustle. which meant it was peaceful and we slept well. The room was well appointed with everything you could need. Plenty of space for two people. We didn’t really need the kitchenette as we were eating out but the coffee machine was nice. "

"We had booked a superior room. The room was ok but not superior in any way. There was no face flannel and not even a biscuit. Not dirty but not scrupulously clean either. Dust around the edge of carpet and on plastic picture over bed. The desk had been bashed by luggage and the laminate had peeled off in places. The bed was comfy and the shower good and hot. The staff were friendly although not overly attentive. The hotel was ok for an overnight stay but we have had better."
