"A very clean room with friendly staff and convenient albeit limited parking. Our issues came from the rail radiator in the bathroom not working as well as the bathroom being cold overall. The check in and check out processes were seamless."

"Only a short walk from the train station, Wheatlands Lodge Hotel was impressive to look at on first view from the street. Well kept garden at front with seating and tables on lawn. Welcomed on arrival, quick check in, offered a local paper guide to York and a complementary hot drink. The bedroom was comfortable and clean but did look a little dated. "The ibis hotel in York was in a good location, within walking distance to everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nicely updated and well kept. The staff at the front desk were great and very helpful. I didn't us the breakfast so cannot comment on that. "

"2rd stay at this hotel. Refused upgrade said not available. Had to argue for a 1 1/2 hour late checkout we did get a one hour late( why not give the extra 1/2 hour we asked for. No free parking mentioned. We never ate at this hotel too expensive. The bar is small and difficult to find a seat except spillover in hall. Bar staff were very nice but to busy to talk and drinks were crazy expensive. The bathroom sink only produced scalding hot water or cold.😡 For a five star we expected better...

"The staff were wonderful, after a dreadul experience with expedia for another booking that this getaway replaced, we talked of our experience and Phillipa kindly gave us a round of drinks on the house! The property is beautiful and in a prime location, but still serene enough to feel off the beaten track (but rodiculously close to a city wall).
