"The room was clean but patio door lock was broken. There were a couple of stains on the carpet. The water pressure in the shower was dreadful!"

"What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend."

"Claverton staff, food, room and gardens all excellent. The functions on 2 nights in function room and beer garden below our room was noisy and therefore took edge off stay hence the 4 stars and would not return in the future."

"The hotel is well situated in the high street. There is parking (albeit limited). Staff on arrival was pleasant but I didn’t see anyone after that. Old building so floors ( including stairs) were uneven and there was no lift. Not a problem for me but I would imagine not everyone could get upstairs. I was in room 19, top of building. No air con but there was a fan in the room. I was on my own but the room was a bit of a tight fit if a couple were in there. Bed linen and towels very clean....

Room was tired and needed a deep clean — springy noisy bed, dust, cobwebs and spiders. Worst part: a huge dog barking and running around directly above us all night and from 7am, which cost us our sleep and our breakfast. "Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "
