"We had the best time at the Rose and Crown the staff were warm and friendly and the setting was just perfect.Bus stopped opposite to get to Bath so convenient.The food in the pub was excellent we had three couples with us and they all said how fantastic th food was.The rooms were absolutely pristine not a speck of dust bathroom was immaculate high praise for the cleaner.Breakfast was great plenty of choice.Definitely would go back here beautiful."

"Richard is a wonderful and generous host full of gentle attentions. His Grosvenor Villa has a great history that you will start discovering as soon as you enter the magnificent lobby. A nice 20 minutes walk to reach downtown Bath, it’s a central point to discover Stonehenge, Bristol, Cardiff and the charming villages of the Cotswold. We highly recommend it and we would we would return with so much pleasure!"

Then you have to drive your car to a parking lot which is 5 minutes by car (as so many one-way streets) and then 5 minutes walk back. "This is a charming hotel with a lovely view of the river, the weir and green fields and hills. The working water wheel is especially appealing. Very peaceful and quiet, but only minutes from Bath City Centre, either walking or via convenient bus stops. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, pleasant place to stay."

"Room was small but clean enough. The big problem with us was the stairs and no lift. We were at the top of the hotel and quite a few flights of stairs . We are in our 70s and had two suitcases about 45lbs each. Ended up leaving them in the car and just taking what we needed from them for the night. We are from Canada and I understand a lot of hotels in Britain are like that."

Cos it’s not a hotel and therefore has no reception or left luggage facility I had to drag my bag around Bath for most of the weekend. "The location is a little out of town but it’s very quick - £7 in a taxi from the train station up the hill and a short and lovely stroll down. We had a spacious twin room and it was comfortable. We didn’t eat or drink there as it was a flying visit but I’d recommend if you want somewhere traditional, spacious and with a great view."
